Garth McVicar - Sensible Sentencing Trust

Yesterday we had Garth McVicar come in and talk to about us how he is a change maker he does sensible sentencing trust he showed us some of his old crimes and about his life before hand how he was a meat hunter then changed to be a deer farmer and how he used to turn his back to all the crimes and now he regrets it but has made up for it.he made us interact and be the judge from court and think of some sensible sentences.in the end he hands out phamlets to give to our phamlets.

Science Fair Project

This year Me and Hattie decided to partner up and create a science fair presentation we decided to do it on gums and its acids we used a red board and painted the top so it standed out here is a photo after we were finished.

Cross Country

My goal for cross country this year is to participate and complete the course.
I plan on achieving this by training hard and running in my free time
Today our training involved"beat my partner" i came second behind my partner because she was a bit faster than me and i walked some of it

Change maker response

In class we have been watching short clips from our blog and writing our responses they are all related to child changemakers

It started with the dish towel- i liked this one because she lets out a message that you can change the world no matter how old or young you.

The kid president- i liked it but not as much as the first one this one said messages that people normally do or say

Inspiring speech-this was a great one he was saying that even though he is brown he can still do everything.

will you choose the dream Team-i liked this clip because they all tell us why they chose to go on the dream team to make themselves matter

Malala yousafzai like this it is very inspiring after i knew what she was talking about she is right every girl has  the right to be educated

WIlliam kamkwamba-this is about how he talks about how he invented energy.

My favourite one would be the first one it started as a dish towel because she is just a kid and she practically changed the world

My name is Lily and I am a year 7 student from Havelock North Intermediate School. I enjoy horse riding and in general horses. I am 11 years old and I’m in a family of 6.

In term 3 this year we have been studying change makers in literacy. That is where we came across your name. When Miss O’B was reading the newspaper she found your report and brought it to school.

After reading that article I was surprised you went through all the trouble. That just shows how good of a friend you are. I hope you stay friends for as long as you can.

This writing really inspired me that one day I might just do that to my friend in the future.
